Okay so just in case any of you was wondering what happened to me today...lets start with me being late for work. Not as this is not really unusual, I at least have to be on time on Thursdays and Fridays...I am to 1st one in and I have to open up the place. Well it really wasn't a big deal, it never is, I just blamed it on the cops sitting in our parking lot.Next I decided I would make my breakfast. Since I decided not to stop to get milk for my cereal, and grabbed a bagel instead I figured I was fine. But then I decided I wanted it toasted. Now I never really ever had a toasted bagel, but for some reason it sounded good. I go into the break room and seeing how we have a broken microwave and no toaster, I decided to use the toaster oven. I have never used a toaster oven. I have one, but its still in the box. (No place to put it right now). So I think I have it working...my boss comes in and I ask him if I did it right. He says I did...well he's my boss, and since I really didn't believe him I decided I would see for my self. We have no towels handy, so I grab a napkin. Apparently napkins catch on fire when they touch the heater coil.bar thingy. So I wave it around to get the flames to stop and I smell something. Yup, you guessed it. My hair had caught fire. Now it wasn't really that bad, I was able to detain the fire without any noticeable damage, but still. It was only 9:30 and I almost had to call 911. Thank goodness no one saw.SO I got my toasted bagel and proceeded to find some butter. Now we have butter, the kind from the coney at the corner, in those little plastic thingys...those don't melt. (on another note, don't put those on a sandwich maker to try...the plastic melts...but that's another story.) So I found some, WAY in the back of the refrigerator. I slathered some on and began to eat it. When I was done eating a co worker came up to me and asked where I got the butter, I told him. Then I noticed that the butter expired over a YEAR ago!!! It wasn't watery or moldy though and it tasted like butter...well as much as no salt, no fat, no cholesterol butter can taste. So I then decided to go and do some bindery, I figured I cant do anything wrong there, heck I could do most of it in my sleep. Well once again wrong. Someone before me didn't clean the glue compound jar, so me and my OCD decided to clean it, forgetting that the pump on the sink was "broken" (We had a city inspection and seeing how they use that sink for....ummm....not its purpose...we declared the sink broken and turned off the pump.) and here I am putting glue and water down it. Needless to say, I got it clogged with glue. The rest of the day went okay until it was time to close. So I left early one day. But I told my boss to close the visa machine out for me at the end of the night if no one else came in. Well, you would think that he knew what he was doing. He is the boss after all...well I was wrong once again. When he went to close it out the other night it didn't really close out, so when I closed it out today I was WAY off and now my books are too. I finally was able to clean up that mess when I had to put in the checks. (We have this machine that you can deposit your checks there instead of having to go to the bank, its kinda cool...when it works). Only tonight the checks for either company was not going through. I sat there and spent an hour cleaning that damn machine. Once it was clean I tried again. They went through, only to find out that the system went down and they would not transmit. TWO frikin hours later after many calls to Comerica and who knows where else, I was able to get them to process. SO lets recap, I got to work at 7:30a, by 9:30 I almost killed myself while burning down the place, by 11 I had clogged the sink with glue and by 8:00- that's 8:00 PM I am sitting here writing this. I am going to order dinner in tonight and watch a movie. Hop y'all had a better day than me!!I swear you can have your own Colleen channel on you-tube with the stuff that goes on at my work! And half of the time, I am the voice of reason!
